Description: The Spyderco Native 5 is the result of more than 20 years of evolution and refinement of the popular Native model, expressing the time-tested size, shape, and ergonomics of the original design with the benefit of state-of-the-art materials and a highly refined back lock mechanism that represents the pinnacle of strength, precision, and ease of operation. This "CruCarta" expression combines brown canvas Micarta handle scales with a CPM CRU-WEAR tool steel blade — an old-school pairing of high-performance materials that became an instant classic when Spyderco first introduced it. The full-flat-ground blade is crafted from tough CPM CRU-WEAR and handsomely satin finished for low-friction cutting performance. The sturdy back lock mechanism and stainless steel backspacer are couched between Micarta scales that are sanded smooth but left unpolished, designed to naturally patina with age and handling to develop their own unique character.
